About this place
For a meal built around hot pot, Kiwada offers duck hot pot and collagen chanko. Diners have praised the quantity, thickness and tenderness of the duck, while those who ordered chanko enjoyed both its broth and the rice porridge served to finish the meal. Both pots are listed in a standard serving and a half-size, making it easier to choose according to your group and appetite.
Sake makes a good companion for a hot-pot dinner. The menu lists Niigata brews such as Hakkaisan and Kikusui, as well as Otokoyama from Hokkaido. One visitor enjoyed pairing hot sake with the hot pot.
Away from the hot pots, the omelette generously drizzled with honey is another tempting choice; it can also be made as a dashi omelette. Diners have singled it out as a favourite, and it is listed at ¥600. For something else to share, there is half-size potato salad and chicken karaage salad.
This Ebara izakaya is just off the Palm shopping arcade in Musashi-Koyama, and welcomes solo diners for dinner.
